Let Perseverance finish it’s work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking in anything
Knowledge and Holiness are not at all linked. In fact, knowledge – if anything – makes Holiness/ righteousness more difficult to achieve.
… Through the law we become conscious of sin.
The more we learn about God, the more we grasp of His love and Grace, the more we are confronted with our own sin. The agony of being broken may last till newness of the body. Constantly aware of his/her folly, the christian is bound to battle desire and indiscipline as well as the call of grace. Knowing the effect of God but trying as a response to that knowledge to justify the love.
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness
2 Corinthians 12:9
We are not like computers – updating software/knowledge doesn’t affect our behavior. We don’t just reboot and complete reinstallation as soon as the next update is downloaded. Our growth is orchestrated and sustained by God. It is He who renews the mind and body in his time and by his love. Understanding Him mentally and emotionally may not necessarily yield a physical result. So persevere but also rest in the knowledge that…
He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it…
